How many times do we say we understand,
when we don't understand a thing at all.
Strutting around the world like a child wearing their parents clothing.
Trying to grow up two lifetimes before we are suposed to.
Standing at the brink of the world and being fearful to step across.

There was a time I wanted to hold onto my teddy bear, My secutity blanket.
But these things are holding us back, says them.
You are big kid now, you don't need these things.
But what is there to comfort you when their is nothing.
the things you took comfort are gone, and althought you didn't want to.
you must stand on your own two feet.

To walk forward on your own power.
When you fall down, there will be no one to pick you up again.
Having to stand again with the cuts and bruises that you got along the way.

There are ones who fall and stay down.
And then there are others who pick themselves back up.
The fallen ones call out, "How can you stand, when it hurts so much...?"
The others look over their shoulder and offer a hand to help them up.

"I do this, becuase there is nothing else I can do."
